What style of Yoga?
The Equal 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is a vinyasa yoga-based program, however, the tools gained will be transferable to many styles of yoga, including Hot Power Yoga.
Vinyasa Flow is a style of yoga characterized by linking movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. A vinyasa yoga class is characterized by a continuous flow of poses and can be paced moderately to vigorously depending on the level of the class.
Is this program 200 hours Yoga Alliance certified?
We have made the decision to not extend our registration with Yoga Alliance. It is our belief that by creating our own training program we can better fuel future instructors with knowledge, critical thinking skills, and the kind of confidence that comes from joining a thorough education. The Yoga Alliance requirements limited us in having multiple excellent skilled teachers teaching their individual expertise and knowledge on several disciplines of yoga.
We will continue to train students in a manner that honours science, integrity, compassion and growth, without having to follow strict standard guidelines, but will still prepare and qualify you to teach all levels of practitioners after completion of our program.
Can you teach yoga without a Yoga Alliance certification?
Yes, absolutely! The benefits of joining a teacher training program (with or without a Yoga Alliance registration) are gaining proficiency and an awareness how to teach. Completing a yoga teacher program builds integrity and trust with those you are teaching and you increase your confidence in front of classes.
Being Yoga Alliance certified is not a legal requirement for teaching yoga. Currently, there are no legal certification requirements to be a yoga teacher.
What if in-person training sessions are cancelled due to Covid-19 regulations?
Your health is always the most important to us, which is why we assess each situation separately. In the event of a lockdown or travel ban, due to the ever-changing situation and uncertainty caused COVID-19, the Equal Teacher Training will be moved to continue online for those parts of the training that we feel are suitable to be taught online. E.g. lectures on philosophy, history of yoga. Other topics that require in-person teachings like learning how to teach and asana exploration will be postponed till after the ban.
By continuing (partly) online, we hope to serve you as a participant while allowing our community to continue to create and share beautiful teachings together.
Please bear with us as we take this one situation at a time so we can make the best, informed decisions and take care of everybody involved. We’ll continue to monitor and always provide a safe and healthy environment for our teachers and students.

"After spending hours looking for a teacher training online, when I found the one at Equal I immediately wanted to know more. What is really different is the multiple teachers part of this training, they all have their own in-depth knowledge on different subjects from anatomy to philosophy, a great mix once you combine them all together and a good way to have a wider view of what is yoga.
The training is intense and demanding but the learning pace is well spread and gives you time to reflect on the content and practice. Some modules like how to use your voice (and take care of it!) are a great bonus. Still referring to by notes from time to time to build up my sequences or check on cues and also reaching out to my teachers and my co-training yogi friends, a great support group when you start teaching!"
"Following the Equal vinyasa yoga teacher training was a transformative, empowering and fun experience! The training gave me a strong foundation as a teacher by providing me with the in-depth knowledge and tools needed to teach vinyasa yoga. Each component brought something unique and valuable to the training, supporting me as a teacher today and allowing me to teach energizing and safe vinyasa classes. The Equal team is amazing, really knowledgeable and kind people. Altogether, the Equal teacher training changed my life, I am now teaching vinyasa yoga classes and enjoying every minute of it! I highly recommend it. Thank you Equal!"
"I was part of the first group of students to follow Equal’s 200hrs Vinyasa teacher training, which proved to be a very high-quality training. The teachers are experienced, approachable and involved. After my graduation I felt confident to start teaching straight away. If you are looking for a training with personal attention, obtaining a strong anatomical foundation, and hands-on teaching skills, I highly recommend taking this training with Equal yoga!"
When I thought to join the 200 hours Vinyasa TT at Equal, I was not expecting that this experience would have completely changed my life. I feel so lucky because I have had the chance to learn and work closely to the best and most prepared teachers. I loved to see different approaches and perspectives from very experienced teachers coming from different backgrounds. That’s what stimulate a student to learn more, cultivate his/her passion and to dive deeply into different topics. I highly recommend Equal TT to anyone who wants to start a beautiful personal journey and discover a whole new world, not only related to the practice and philosophy of yoga and meditation, but a different way to approach life.
I joined this TT first for deepening my physical yoga practice (and teaching) but it also gave me understanding of yoga practice but also on myself : an access to a new tool box to approach life from a different view point :-)
