Your tuition fee is due upon enrolment to reserve your spot. Your payment is due in full by the early registration date in order to receive the discounted rate. Full payment is required 2 weeks before the start of the program.

What style of yoga?

The Equal 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training is a vinyasa yoga based program, however, the tools gained will be transferable to many styles of yoga, including the Hot Power Yoga we teach at Equal.
Vinyasa Flow is a style of yoga characterized by linking movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. Vinyasa aligns a sequence of poses together with the breath to achieve a continuous flow. Vinyasa yoga classes can be paced moderately to vigorously depending on the level of the class.

What will I learn in this 200 hour Equal Yoga Teacher Training?

This Teacher Training prepares you for life as an inspiration for others. After the program you will be able to introduce yoga to others and make them aware of the beauty of meditation, relaxation, basic pranayama, but also the fun of power yoga.

This 200hr vinyasa teacher training is conjointly taught by our most senior Equal Teachers, who have been teaching at Equal Yoga for a while. They will share their knowledge in various topics of their expertise.


Is our program right for you?

Our 200-hour training does much more than deepen your yoga practice and help you develop as a teacher; it is a program intended to inspire transformation in your life. Through the study of asana, mindfulness, lifestyle philosophy, positive psychology, anatomy and beyond, watch the changes unfold on and off your mat!
This program is for any level of student. Our yoga style of focus is that of vinyasa, however, the tools gained will be transferable to many styles of yoga.  You will feel at home at Equal Yoga. You will meet and connect with some genuinely amazing people, and make life-long friendships.

What we ask from you:

We require our students to have a consistent, dedicated yoga practice and a strong desire to learn and explore the modern teachings of yoga. We expect you can manage a 1.5 hour vigorous vinyasa yoga based practice. We want to make sure that trainees have a basic foundation in the primary yoga postures before learning how to teach. As the Teachers Training will be taught in English, you have a good understanding of the English language. You are welcome to write homework and exams in Dutch.

The Equal Teacher Training is designed as an intensive course; it is a great way to immerse yourself within the span of a 4 months period. This helps to enrich a transformational experience for your body and mind. This also means that we ask you to work hard and be dedicated in these months to explore and create awareness of who you are. Committing yourself to this course is an intense experience with self-study, regular yoga practice, will help to get you out of your comfort zone and can be highly transformative.

How much time should I expect to spend on 200-hour homework?

Homework activities will include the following to help to you digest and explore yoga from all sides. Expect between 5-8 hours a week (reading, writing, practice teaching). The homework is designed to support the material covered in class and help you integrate what is presented into your own practice and teaching. But most importantly, we want you to have fun…

What is the Daily Schedule like?

8:00 - 8:30: Meditation

8:30 - 10:30: Asana Practice

10:30 - 12:30: Yoga Anatomy - Muscles

12:30 - 13:30: Lunch break 

13:30 - 14:45: Posture Clinic - Learning, teaching and assisting

15:00 - 16:45: Yoga Philosophy - Hatha yoga pradipika

17:00 - 18:00: Equal Yoga Class

What is Yoga Alliance?

Yoga Alliance is an organization that was started in 1999 as a way to create internationally recognized standards for yoga teachers and yoga teacher trainings in the US and worldwide. More and more yoga studios are requiring their teachers to register with the Yoga Alliance. Yoga Alliance registration, however, is not a legal requirement for teaching yoga. Currently, there are no legal certification requirements to be a yoga teacher.

What are the 200-hour graduation requirements?

In order to graduate our program, you must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Attendance of in-class teacher training sessions
  • Successful completion of homework, assignments and final exam
  • Participation in a final in-class practice teaching practicum
  • Completion of class taking & observing requirement
  • No more than 3 days (24hours) of absence during the trai All missed days must be made up. The missed class protocol will be provided in the training manual.
What if I don't want to be a teacher?

Our 200-hour training is ideal for those who want to delve deeper into the study of yoga, and to improve their own practice. It’s also great for students who simply want to have a transformational experience and to be a part of our Equal Yoga Community.

What is the process for getting hired to teach at Equal Yoga after the training?

Please note that actually working at Equal Yoga, or at any studio, is not only a matter of completing a training but of the right teaching fit for that studio as well as the availability of openings on the schedule. It is never guaranteed. Equal Yoga seeks a diverse, committed, and well-trained faculty who uphold our high standard of quality for safe, effective and accessible teaching in the field of yoga.

What is your Teacher Training cancellation and refund policy?

Cancelation agreement:

  • 31 days or more before the start: 100% of the Training Tuition Fee minus €150 Administration Fee
  • 21-31 days before start: 50% of the Training Tuition Fee.
  • 15-20 days before start: 25% of the Training Tuition Fee
  • 1-14 days prior to the start of the Training, or after the course begins: no refund
What if I miss a day?

Yoga Alliance requires that you complete all 200 hours of the teacher training. However, we understand that sometimes conflicts come up, and we have developed the make-up policy listed below.

Please note that you can miss a maximum of 24 training hours (equals approximately 3 days), and you will have one year from the last day of your program to complete your attendance requirements. The missed class protocol will be provided in the Study Guide.
